Terry Lane Miller, of Charles City, died on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at MercyOne Mason City. A private family burial with military honors will be held at Newton Union Cemetery.
Terry, the son of Claire and Johanna (Oudshorn) Miller, was born on May 20, 1948. He grew up in Kellogg, where he attended Kellogg Elementary School. He graduated from Newton High School in the Class of 1966. Terry served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Marines. When he returned from the service, Terry made his home in Newton. He worked at the Maytag Company, retiring after 30 years. After retirement, Terry moved to Charles City. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He also enjoyed collecting marine memorabilia and gnomes. Terry had a soft spot in his heart for his cats.
Terry is survived by his children, Jason Miller (Renee Grill) and Eric (Robin) Miller; grandchildren, Blade Miller, Angel (Braden) Weeks, Jade Miller, and James miller; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ricky (Ta Suk) Miller of Raymore, Missouri, Char Miller of Grinnell, Diana Miller of Newton, and Brad (Chun Nai) Miller of Columbia, South Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeffrey Miller.
