Tom was born the son of Greeta Mildred “Midge” (Morelock) Williams and Max Raymond Williams on May 28, 1947, in Newton, Iowa. At the age of 9, Tom lost both of his parents in separate auto accidents. He was raised by his grandmother, Charlotte “Lottie” Morelock Swan. Tom attended school in Newton and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri.
Tom is survived by his wife of 25 years, Täna Williams; his two daughters, Jessica (Jim) Williams and Lauren Williams; grandchildren, Braden, Matti, Mira, and Olive; his stepchildren, Dawn, Stacy and Josh (Erica) Foreman; step-grandchildren, Jordan, Tanae (Justin), Ahren, Emersyn, and Kolton; and one step-great-grandson, Jaxon. He is also survived by his first wife, Deb Sandholm Williams and his ex-son-in-law, Larry Shaver, Jr.
Tom was very active in the Izaak Walton League. He was president of the local chapter for 5 years and was awarded a National Life Membership. He was involved in the auto industry most of his life. He was a well-known salesman in Newton and the surrounding area or years. He also worked for U.S. Life and traveled the United States training others.
He will be remembered for his white hat, starched white shirts, and his love of fishing.
There will be no formal services at this time for the safety of family and friends. We hope to have a celebration of life at a later date. Per Tom’s wishes, his ashes will be spread at some of his favorite fishing spots by his family and his fishing buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his wife in loving memory of Tom (please make checks payable to Täna Williams.) Memorials can also be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
