Vivian R. (Browning) Schultz, 89, of Newton died on Monday, December 28, 2020, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. The family will greet friends from 10-11:30 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Immediately following a graveside service will be held at Newton Union Cemetery (NOTE because of the weather the graveside service will be held at the funeral home). Memorials to the First Assembly of God Church may be left at the funeral home.
Vivian, the daughter of William and Jessie (Corum) Browning, was born on July 25, 1931 in Champion, Nebraska. After graduating from high school, Vivian was united in marriage with Robert L. “Bob” Schultz on June 30, 1956 in Newton. Vivian worked for a short time at the Maytag Company before being a homemaker. She continued to do odd jobs of ironing, babysitting, and house cleaning as well. Vivian was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed collecting stamps, quilting, canning, and cooking.
Vivian is survived by her three sons, Kelvin (Julie) Schultz of Newton, Eric (Josephine) Schultz, of Tracy, California, Aaron (Laura) Schultz of Newton; five grandchildren, Josh (Donna) Schultz, Amanda Schultz, Samuel Schultz, Sydney Schultz, and Alexandra Schultz; step-grandchildren, Michael Eppstein, Nicole Boothe, and Ashley (Richie) Lust; her 15 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Fran) Schultz of Newton and Dorothy Schultz of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. “Bob” Schultz; two sisters and five brothers.
