William “Bill” Edward Brain, 78, of Newton, died Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Valley Vista Nursing and Rehab in Newton. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
Bill, the son of Allen and Ruby A. (Lust) Brain, was born April 4, 1948, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1966. He worked in dryer assembly for The Maytag Company for several years until his retirement. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. He more recently enjoyed fishing, playing video games with his nephew, and flying drones at Rock Creek. He loved mowing and taking care of his yard, which was his pride and joy.
Bill is survived by his nephew, Tony Brain of Des Moines, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Allen Brain.
