Gary, the son of H.G. and Genevieve (Dresler) Martinson, was born on August 4, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1972, they made their home in Reinbeck where they lived for the next 27 years. After that they lived in Garwin for 18 years before moving to Newton in 2014. Gary was a talented woodworker and worked as a self-employed carpenter. He also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. He was a member of the Grace Church in Newton.
