Judith "Judy" A. (Wilcox) Good

Judy’s funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26th at the funeral home.

The family will greet friends from 1-2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26th at the funeral home.           

Burial will be at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.    

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Home Instead Senior Care of Newton or to the Donor’s Choice, memorials may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home, please add, Attn: Good Family on the envelope.

Judith “Judy” A. (Wilcox) Good, the daughter of Willis Frederick and Lulu Myrtle Tratchel Wilcox was born on December 27, 1938 in Newton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Newton High School in 1957.

On August 10, 1956, Judy was united in marriage with Marlow I. Good in Newton. They were blessed with two children, Alan and Brenda. Judy worked at the Newton Daily News from 2002-2009. Prior to 2002 she co-owned and operated Marlow’s Roofing and A & M Gutters and had worked as an office manager for Francis O’Roake at State Farm Insurance. She loved being with her family and friends. Judy was a loving and caring wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

Judy died on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West in Newton, she was 78. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlow in 2009; sister, Berdene Spencer; brothers, Forest “Frosty” Wilcox and Philip Wilcox.

Those left to cherish Judy’s memory are her children, Alan (Shari) Good of Newton and Brenda Beerntsen of Suamico, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Zach, Seth (Halee) and Holly Good and Nathan, Evan and Brett Beerntsen; her two great-grandchildren, Raylynn and Wrangler Good; and niece, Diana (Steve) Findley of Peosta.
