Kathie C (Danley) Danley

Kathie Carlene Danley, 69, of Newton died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials in Kathie’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Kathie, the daughter of Carl and Esther (Wonders) Danley, was born on March 29, 1948 in Des Moines. She was a lifelong resident of Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1966.  Kathie worked at a CNA for local nursing homes for 38 years.  She enjoyed flower gardening, singing, and watching “Call The Midwife.” 

Kathie is survived by her children, Chris (Susan) Danley of Crescent City, Florida; daughter, Dannille McElroy (fiancé, David Harwood) of Newton; three grandchildren, Christina Brake, Brandon Brake, and Welsey McElroy; great-granddaughter, Aurora; two brothers, Dennis (Becky) Danley of Osceola and Randy (Carol) Danley of Newton; and two half-sisters, Shirley Danley and Janice Chisholm, both of Newton.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
