Michael, the son of Arthur and Ethel (Huit) Stockdall, was born on February 23, 1956 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Growing up he attended Lynnville-Sully schools and was a decorated wrestler.  For many years, Michael has lived in Newton and was truly a jack of all trades.  He worked many years at McKlveen Lumber and also had owned his own mowing company and motorcycle repair shop in Grinnell.   Michael enjoyed working with his hands which shown through in many of his hobbies that included tinkering on vehicles, wood burning, and doing decoupage projects.  He was also a skilled artist and liked riding his motorcycle.  More than anything he loved spending time with his family and was known to give everyone a hard time here and there.

Those left to honor Michael’s memory are his children, Jeremy Stockdall of Cedar Rapids, Kelly Stockdall of Cedar Rapids, Mandy (Howard) Baker of State Center, Jessica Stockdall of Grinnell, Michael Stockdall of Kellogg, and Jaymie Stockdall of Newton; many grandchildren; his brother, Donny Stockdall of Ottumwa; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
