Danielle "Mary" Chloe (Malley) Mahoney

Danielle Chloe “Mary” Mahoney, 77, of Newton died on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home or mailed to the family.

Mary, the daughter of James and Helen (Padden) Malley, was born on July 7, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois.  She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Holy Trinity High School.  Mary was united in marriage with Harold Mahoney on March 17, 1973, in Wisconsin.  They lived in many places during their married years; making their home in Newton over 20 years ago.  Mary was strong in her Catholic faith.  She enjoyed plants, flowers, kids, animals, reading, and music.  Mary had a love for laughing.  

Mary is survived by her husband, Harold Mahoney of Newton; children, David Mahoney of Newton, Frank (Jess) Mahoney of Newton, Jessamyn Mahoney of California, Gabriella Mahoney of Newton, and Rhonda (Chad) Hoffman of Damascus, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Jasmine, Evan, Elijah, Zayden, Abigail, Mackenzie, and Shaylyn; her great-grandchildren, Harmony and Connor; sister, Catherine Malley of Newton; and her nieces and nephews including niece, Helen Mahoney of Newton.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John Mahoney.
