Don C Evans

 Don C. Evans, 71, of Newton died on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at Skiff Medical Center. No services are scheduled at this time. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory will be handling the cremation.  

Don, the son of Don and Mary (Chapman) Evans, was born on March 6, 1947 in Colfax. He grew up in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School. Don lived in Newton and Altoona working for many years as a mail carrier in Colfax and later in Des Moines.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Don also loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs.  He recently moved back to Newton.

Don is survived by his daughter, Tracy Evans (Mitch Davis) of Newton; grandchildren, Connor Gosselink and Nora Davis; sister, Susan Rice of Edmond, Oklahoma; and niece, Kelly (Ken) Partyka of Edmond.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Scott Miles.
