Judy Schutty died peacefully on April 30 in Austin, Texas with her family. She was 76 years old. In her final days, Judy was surrounded by her loved ones, including her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family members and life-long friends.
Born in Newton, Iowa on September 22, 1946, she attended Newton Senior High School. She also attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in social work – making her a very forever proud, Iowa Hawkeye. She married John A. “Tony” Schutty in June of 1970 and raised two children, Jason Anthony and Jacqueline Marie. She worked at Meisner Electric for more than 30 years as an accountant and controller. Those who knew and loved Judy were fortunate to receive her unconditional love, unbounded kindness, and unwavering compassion and loyalty. Judy was an incredible mother and grandmother above all else. She loved spending time with her grandchildren watching them laugh, play and enjoy life. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her two grandchildren, children, and many friends and family members. She was preceeded in death by her parents, John Robson and Edith Jones; her stepfather, Ernie Jones; husband, John A. "Tony" Schutty; sister, Sharon Smith; and brother, John Robson. She is survived by her daughter Jackie (Austin, TX) and son Jason (Des Moines, IA) and grandchildren Dylan and Jade; along with her close cousin Sandy Smith.
Judy’s remarkable life will be celebrated and honored with stories and song at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral jome. The family appreciates flowers or donations can be made to Discover Hope.
