Mary Katheryn (Henning) Nolin

Mary’s funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 18th at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1115 S. 8th Ave. E. in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 17th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

A Private Family burial will be held at a later date at the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorials to the Monroe Fire Rescue may be left at the church on the day of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. If you are mailing the memorial to the funeral home please add, Attn: Nolin Family on the envelope.

Mary Katheryn Henning Nolin, the daughter of Donald D. and Esther R. Crawford was born on April 4, 1963 in Grinnell, Iowa. Mary was a graduate of Newton High School in 1981. She also graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa with her CMA. Mary worked as a CMA for CIC in Des Moines.

On February 21, 2004, Mary was united in marriage to Allen B. Nolin in Monroe, Iowa. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. Mary loved playing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, going on motorcycle rides, gardening and feeding the hummingbirds.

Mary died on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Henning.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memory are her husband, Allen of Monroe; children, Courtney (Jon) Brumbaugh of Altoona and Elijah Pherigo of Monroe; three grandchildren, Kingston, Kashton and Kinsley; her mother, Esther Henning of Newton; sisters, RoseAnna Henning of Newton and Tammy Pittman of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.
