Ronald Dean "Deano" Williams II

Ronald Dean “Deano” Williams II, 49, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton died on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.  A celebration of Dean’s life will be held from 12-3 p.m., with a time of sharing from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, November 3, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.  Memorials may be left to Endia to be used for his grandchildren’s education.

Dean, the son of Ronald Dean and Dorothea Marchell (Jackson) Williams was born on December 28, 1968 in Moline, Illinois. At the age of four, Dean moved to Newton where he would grow up and later graduate from Newton High School. After high school Dean attended DMACC and also was trained as a Phlebotomist. As an adult Dean moved to Des Moines. Since 2010, he has worked as a server at the Embassy Club.  His co-workers have said, “Everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting or working with Deano could see his kind heart, witty sense of humor, and great work ethic. Deano was a one of a kind friend. He was always there through thick and thin.  He always had an ear to listen, be the person to joke and laugh with (a distinguished laugh), or offer you the kindest smile and hug.  Deano was family, a brother to everyone, and his kind soul will be deeply missed.” He also has done many odd jobs including working for the Saley Nong family and at the Rollins Mansion.  

Dean enjoyed acting and in addition to being in many local productions and on the Mary Brubaker show he had an appearance in the Iowa based movie “The Bridges of Madison County”.  He also did modeling and may be recognized as the Casey’s “pizza guy”.  Dean enjoyed going out and listening to music and was known to appreciate a good cigar or bourbon.  He also liked golfing and writing poetry.  Dean was a loving dad, grandpa, son, cousin, and friend.

Those left to honor Dean’s memory are his daughter, Endia Williams (Kambron Paige) of Des Moines; grandchildren, Kamara Paige, Marcus Paige, Karter Paige, and Kamaria Cortez; his mother, Dorothea Marchell Jackson-Williams of New York City; sister, Sheree Hudson; and his extended family including his cousin and best friend, Ayo Yeboah of Des Moines.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Dean Williams; maternal grandparents, Harvey H. and Dorothea M. Banks-Jackson and paternal grandparents, Granville and Willie Williams.
