Ruth Moredock Obituary

Ruth Moredock, 93, of Newton died on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Newton Health Care Center. Per Ruth’s wishes a private family graveside service will be held at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ruth, the daughter of Charles L. and Mary J. (McCawley) Moredock, was born on August 7, 1925. She lived in Newton for most of her life and worked at the Maytag Company for 35 years, retiring in 1987.

Ruth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moredock; grandchildren, Theresa (Matthias) McMillan and Ryan Moredock; great-grandchildren, Brandi Hodge, Eric Hodge, and Tiffany Hodge; her great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Silas Miller and Kaiden Creech, all of Newton; and many nieces and nephews, including a niece she was especially close to, Sioux (Dan) Newberg of Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Richard Moredock.
