Wilbur “Wil” A. Hotchkin, 68, of Grinnell died on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Eagles Club in Grinnell.
Wil, the son of Bernard and Caroline (Lidtka) Hotchkin, was born on May 1, 1952 in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated high school from Boy’s Town in Omaha, Nebraska. Wil lived most of his life in Grinnell along with eight years in Mesa, Arizona. He was the owner of Hotchkin Construction for over 30 years, retiring in 2006. After retiring he worked at Meskwaki Casino for 7 years as a table games dealer. Wil loved riding horses and enjoyed building “anything and everything”.
Wil is survived by his children, Dustin Hotchkin of Grinnell, Sara (Barry) Jones of Cherokee, Jennifer (Josh) Olivieri of Gilbert, Arizona, and Kiley (Josh) Ingle of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Austin Frascht, Jason Kerr, Isaac Bryant, Isabelle Ramos, Kaiden Peake, Keon Jones, Jaxstin DePoorter, Harper Jo Ingle, Jayla Ingle, Miles Ingle, Livia Davenport, and Isla Davenport; his mother, Caroline Hotchkin of Grinnell; siblings, Phil (Beth) Hotchkin, Helen Jo Hotchkin, Martha (Wallace) Woods, LaRita (Jim) Steiner, and Ed Hotchkin; and his nieces and nephews, Aaron (Julie) Hotchkin, Dustin (Stephanie) Bailey, Alison (Matt) Blankenfeld, and Jessica (Zach) Story. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Hotchkin; son, Jason Hotchkin; and twin brother, Bill Hotchkin.
