William "Bill" Etter Obituary

William Earl “Bill” Etter, 66, of Kellogg, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at his home.  A celebration of life will be held from 12-4 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Amboy Grange in Kellogg. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or to Bill’s family (checks made payable to Delinda Etter) can be brought to the celebration of life or can be left at the funeral home.

   Bill, the son of Robert and Minnie Loo (Swanson) Etter, was born April 13, 1955, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1973. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Bill had worked at Maytag, Donaldsons, Farmhand, and most recently, had been a welder at Vermeer.  He had been a member of the UAW Local 997.  Bill was united in marriage with Delinda Dean on May 11, 1990, at Rock Creek.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his kids and grandkids, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals—often with a beer in hand. He was also known for his love of fried chicken.

   Bill is survived by his wife, Delinda of Kellogg; children: Amanda (Derrick) Vance of Kellogg, Nathan Etter of Kellogg, Nick Etter of Newton, and Lindsey Etter of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren; his brothers: Tim Etter of Spring Lake, Minnesota, Bob (Becky) Etter of Newton, and Jim (Cindy) Etter of Knoxville; his mother-in-law, Shirley Dean of Newton; brother-in-law, Dohn (Lesa) Dean of Newton; his fur babies, Lola and Lucy; his best friends, Mike and Joyce Sharp of Promise City; and many nieces and nephews.  

   Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Justin Etter; brother, Steve Etter; father-in-law, Dohn Dean, Sr., and sister-in-law, Dianna Etter.
