The death of Mrs. Marilyn "Lyn" J Godbey (McNamar)is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are those who care and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. Jehovah is the God of all comfort. My prayers are with you and your family. jw.org

Mary and David, we are so sorry about the loss of your mom. We first met, when Lyn started attending Calvary Baptist Church in Indianola. From there, a friendship of many years developed. Lyn joined us for lunch almost every Sunday at Godfathers Pizza. Other times she would join us at Hardee's. Lyn enjoyed reading poetry at our church Christmas programs. She loved to read, and was willing to share her books. We stopped by Lyn's apartment once, so our youngest son could show her his new puppy. Lyn's eyes lit up and you could tell it made her day. I was always moved by the way your mother cared for others. On a weekly basis she would take an elderly friend shopping for groceries, run them on errands, and take them to doctor appointments. Lyn loved the Lord and served God by making phone calls on the church prayer chain. She prayed for others, and was a true friend. Lyn loved you very much, and always shared joyful stories about her family. She was very proud of every one of you - in laws, grandkids, and all. My heart goes out to you in your time of loss. May God be your strength and comfort, each and every day.
