Aunt Marilyn it was so nice to meet her in 2014 at a family reunion, she was so gracious to us , our biological uncle was Kenneth Doty, her 1st husband. Aunt Marilyn is still missed very much, the world lost a great woman but Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

While working with Mother Teresa's orphanage in India I often thought about a very special Great Aunt Marilyn. She was an unassuming woman who was seen as a mother to many. No child, or person who was ever in need, was ever turned away. Her life was not a life that I would say was easy, but it was full of the love of her family and her friends. Her life was not filled with the materialistic wantings that so many have, but it was filled with an unwavering faith to God. Despite the cruelty some people would feel in their hearts and say with their words; she would show forgiveness. If a new babe was born she was there...and when someone left this world she was there. But what I will always remember, is that she always had a smile for the world. One of Mother Teresa's favorite quotes was, "Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing - The world has lost a hero...but God has gained an angel.

I'll miss you Aunt Marilyn...until we meet again

Jody, your mom was so sweet and her smile just lit up her face. I am so sorry to hear of her death. I first met her at a Mass in Altoona. I introduced myself and told her I had seen her at Mass in Newton. She said "well, yes. I usually go with my daughter Jody. She is such a good daughter." I didn't know you then but I promised I would look for both of you and I did. Prayers for your family. Lori

Sorry to read of Marilyn's death and condolences to her extended family. She was a great lady and always so friendly and caring. As the youngest of the Maxwell children she learned great empathy for everyone. I can still see her through my young elementary eyes as a vibrant and beautiful young girl in high school. She grew into a vibrant and beautiful woman, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

I am saddened to hear about Marilyn's passing, but my heart knows there was rejoicing in heaven Monday. I also know that Kenny, Bobby, Albert and Berniece Doty, and many, many others were glad to welcome her to her new home. I pray and know that God will comfort Bill and all of Marilyn's children as they pass through this valley that we all will go through some day.
