IOWA DONOR NETWORK

Iowa Donor Network's Family Support Services is dedicated to serving the unique needs of organ and tissue donor families. Services are designed to empower families so they may integrate the death and donation of their loved one's organs and/or tissues into their lives. IDN's support services include providing literature that relates to the grief process and to organ/tissue donation, opportunities to commemorate loved ones through memorial projects, and information on special donor family events and activities.

Strengthening Families and Restoring Futures. Licensed clinicians that are caring and compassionate to assist families in healing through grief and loss and other life situations/events. Therapists that specialize in healing from trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, behavioral problems, and relationship issues. Non-profit organization that provides counseling on a sliding scale/ability to pay basis for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION GREATER IOWA CHAPTER

Support groups, resources, and education available to help professionals and families who have a relative with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Safe Return Program, a national registry for persons with dementia who wander off by themselves. Call the Association for times an dates of upcoming meetings, programs, and events. A speaker is available for your group or organization.

AMANDA THE PANDA SUPPORT GROUPS
Adults grieving the death of a loved one meet with two facilitators per group for 8 weeks on Monday evenings in the fall, winter, and spring. Groups are available for children and teens (6-17) at the same time.

BEGINNNG EXPERIENCE
The Beginning Experience weekend program helps grieving single-again persons move from the darkness of grief into the lift of a new beginning, and move into the future with renewed hope. The program helps deal with the natural grief process and offers an opportunity, through God, for turning the pain of loss into an experience of positive growth. Three weekend programs are provided each year.
