Dennis "Guru" D. Gulling

Dennis’ family will Celebrate his Life with a visitation from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, December 6th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Dennis’ name may be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home, please add, Attn: Gulling Family on the envelope.

Dennis D. “Guru” Gulling, the son of Richard L. and Madonna M. (Roberts) Gulling was born on March 30, 1952 in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1970.

Dennis was blessed with two daughters, Kim and Jen. He worked for 30 years as a union Drywaller, doing drywall finishing. Dennis liked making people laugh it was his favorite pastime. He was a big prankster. He enjoyed fishing, playing foosball and pool. He played slow-pitch softball.

Dennis died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Accura Healthcare of Baxter in Baxter, he was 64. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a niece in infancy.

Those left to celebrate his life are his daughters, Kim (Rob) Meyer of Baxter and Jen Gulling (fiancé, Chad Andrews) of Newton; granddaughter, Erin Suttek of Baxter and her daughter, Eleanor Warner and grandson, Ryan Meyer of Baxter; his siblings, Doug (Kathy) Gulling of Newton, Deb (Dennis) Witte of Kellogg, David Gulling of Arizona and Darin (Miguael) Gulling of Newton; uncle, Gary Roberts of Cedar Rapids; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
